The 92 integra seems to be our family car. First driven by my father than my brother and now me. It has 265,000 miles on it and still runs as if it were only a few years old.

One of the most reliable cars in the market. I got it during the last years of my college and I am still running it using it as my daily driver. Very few major repairs have been done on the car.

Few changes done are the timing belt,AC, radiator but for the most part it has been a zero headache car requiring minimal input. Currently I stick to the maintenance schedule besides oil changes and a few other things.

Recently installed the new altezza lights in the rear giving it a great look and also upgraded the sound system.

This is a nice video on youtube about 92 integra with turbo. Enjoy it:

My RATING for this car would be:

1.Performance: (9/10) The B17A1 engine is a real beauty. Gives a good amount of horsepower and the redline for the rpm is 8000. so you can really push the car to a max on the highway. The compression ratio of this car is also very great. This is based on the highly successful VTEC system and the fuel efficiency is also great.

2.Comfort: (8/10) It is a very comfortable ride with good control in the hands of the driver. The only problem I see is that the leg room in the rear is a bit less so it is ok to have a few college friends around but going out with family becomes a bit problematic on long trips.

3.Fuel Economy:(10/10) The fuel economy given by this car is simply great. I get around 30 mpg in city and around 34 mpg on highways even after all the years of wear and tear. I am sure that there would be very few cars in the market giving this economy at the power which a 92 integra gives.

4.Fun to drive: (10/10) this is really a great car when it comes to having fun. My brother used to take me along with his friends on camping trips and this car could really take a beating as he and his friends were not one of the best drivers around. You can really do all sorts of experimentation with this car when it comes to driving.

5.Design :(9/10) I like the exterior design of my 92 integra as it can be used as a college car and with a paint job and a few exterior mods as a daily driver also. The only problem is that there are no cup holders which sometimes is a nuisance.

6.Build quality :(10/10) it has a good solid build. Have had few minor accidents with this car and still after repairs it works as a new one without any problem.

7.Reliability :(10/10) I think the fact that it has been running for the past 18 years having put more than 250k miles itself tells about the reliability of the car. No matter what weather this car simply starts and runs.

PRICE:
Currently a 92 integra coupe is available for around $1600 for the RS model and $2100 for a GS-R.
The 92 integra sedan is available for around $1800 for the RS model and $2200 for the GS.

If you want to purchase a car here is a good place you can look. autos.aol.com/used-list/make1-Acura/model1-Integra/

PARTS:
If you are looking for tuning/modding your 92 integra or just do minor upgrades you can look up here. If you just purchased it spending a bit on minor upgrades can go a long way in the maintenance of the car.

I got this car from a friend of a friend in 2004 with 120k miles on it. This was my first acura and it has made me a fan of their reliability. I have owned several other cars but i was never able to get this sort of hassle free ride. The fuel efficiency it gives even now is great and with a paint job i did some time back it looks as good as new. Planning to pass this car to my son when he grows up. Just follow the scheduled maintenance and the car will run without any hassle.

You can look for this car in nearby used car dealership or on net. You will find some really good pieces available at following sites:

LEMONFREE

CARSDIRECT

AUTOTRADER

I got my 92 integra around 5 years back for $2000. It already had 150,000 miles on it. i have added another 60k miles in the past 5 years and i am totally amazed by the smooth ride it gives till now along with the mechanics i showed it. I have had to do some basic maintenance expenses on it(>$700).

Hope to run this car for atleast another few years. Have been able to get 29 mpg in city/35 mpg on highway and never feel the lack of power. Next buy would be honda for sure.

I got a 92 integra around 6 years back. it was never supposed to be my daily driver but soon because of its reliability and fuel efficiency over my SUV fuel guzzlers i made the switch. I have been able to add 80,000 miles in the past 6 years over the 120k miles which were already there. It has been a great experience and the amount of cash that i have saved has been really great. Even now i have kept it as a regular ride and my wife loves to drive the car because of its hassle free ride.

for those wishing to do a comparison with other cars i would strongly suggest "KELLY BLUE BOOK". you can search among multiple models and over a period of time.

Besides integra other models which one might be interested are:

Honda Civic

Volkswagen golf

Mazda protege

Toyota Corolla

You can do some nice comparison on kelly blue book site.

thanks for the info arnold. i love honda and myself have a 96 civic. the 92 integra is also a great car and if one can lay their hands on a low mileage car this would be a good option.
