I had purchased the 95 civic version way back in 98 and I can say from my previous experience that this is by far one of the most reliable car made. I have driven it quite smoothly for all the past years and the performance has been great. This 95 civic has required only minor changes till now like brakes, oil changes and tires.
I think we should be having more cars like these in the market and the only defect till now was its paint which I had to get because it had become faded and did not look that nice. I believe with a few more changes it might easily pull another 100,000 miles. When the fuel mileage is considered it is simply amazing. The total savings on the gas itself would be enough to get another civic. Overall I would rate the 95 civic very high although it is always better to get regular service done which I make sure of since a long time.
I have also been able to do long road trips with this car without even a single defect occurring and this was the most important as it is almost quite regular for me to go on a bit longer trips in my car. Out of all the cars currently in my driveway I have found this 95 civic to be one of the best in terms of reliability, maintenance, gas savings, and easy of drive.
