I have an old 80 truck which has a 350 engine. I was looking for increasing its performance somehow without too much expense. Finally ended up doing the upgrade to vortec heads on the suggestion of my local mechanic guy whom I have known for quite some years.
One of the main reasons why I wanted these vortec heads was to get more power in the range of 2500 to 3500 RPM and on the highway the net power available to me is very low. I had a little problem with the water sender however was able to fix it with very little modifications with a expense of only a few dollars. Finally now I can say that it has been by far one of my best upgrades in any of my motor and the net improvement to dollars spent ratio is one of the best.
The vortec heads were to my expectation really affordable and after seeing their performance I did not mind the few minor modification I had to do to because of it. Overall loving this new found performance in my truck because of the vortec heads.
