{image1_200x200}
I purchased a 95 civic in 2006 from a friend of mine and driving this car has been a great pleasure since then. It had 120,000 on it and currently I have already put another 40,000 miles on it. It has required very minor repairs like oil changes, tune ups,brake pads and a few other things.

The mpg that this car is able to deliver is really fantastic. Able to get around 36 mpg in city traffic and 40 mpg on highways. Earlier I wasn't planning to make it a daily driver but keep it as a second substitute car however this car is simply phenomenal when it comes to reliability.

{image2_200x200}
After I had some bad experiences with my newer cars it was just a matter of time before I switched to this. Also it guarantees a bang for the buck. I got it for around $4000 and since then have done a few upgrades myself.
I now regret getting other much expensive cars which in the end require troublesome repairs. For people wanting to go with simple, reliable, fuel efficient car I would say this would be a very good choice.

RATING
PRICE
BUY

This is a cool video of a civic turbo hitting the 140mph mark. Great sound too.

General information for the 95 civic can be obtained from here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_civic

RATING:

1.Performance: (8/10) It has decent horsepower and with a few non expensive upgrades you can boost the performance of this car to a great deal however still it cannot be compared to the muscle cars neither was it designed for that purpose.

2.Comfort: (7/10) It has a fairly comfortable seat and you would not mind taking the 95 civic on long trips also however the leg space at the back is a bit less thus difficult to move with family and also the cup holders are not that great.

3.Fuel Economy: (10/10) My basic reason for purchasing this car was for its fuel efficiency and it has taken care of this area very nicely. I get a 36 mpg in city and above 40 on highways. You can still improve this with a few upgrades.

4.Fun to Drive: (10/10) I simply love driving this car. One of the major reasons being that it is that I did not have to put lot of money into it and this car can really take a beating. I have done off-roading with this and still there has been hardly any problems.

5.Design: (8/10) The exterior paint had become a bit faded so I had to get a custom paint job on my 95 civic. Besides this the exteriors look quite good. Changing the tires will give you better performance and better looks.

6.Build Quality: (10/10) This car is meant to last. You can use it as a test car to teach your children or just rough use it yourself. It has a lot of patience to take a beating.

7.Reliability: (10/10) In the past 4 years there has hardly been a time when I have had to worry about it not starting or leaving me in the middle of a road. The way it is running I probably might be able to push 300,000 miles in it.

PRICE
Currently a 95 civic coupe CX model is available for $1900 and a EX for around $2500
for a 95 civic sedan the DX model is available for $2300 and a EX for $2700. These prices might fluctuate greatly depending on the mileage of the car.

BUY:
You can do a search for the 95 civic model here: http://www.lemonfree.com/map.php?make=HONDA&model=CIVIC

Overall I would give this car a (9/10). Hope to keep it in the driveway for a long time now.

11 Vote(s)
